Macedonia Square

The heart of central Skopje and one of the city’s main gathering places. Macedonia Square is surrounded by cafés, shops and prominent city landmarks, with the Alexander The Great monument at its centre. From here, walk directly across the Stone Bridge toward the historic Old Bazaar, stroll along the Vardar River, or explore the pedestrian streets of the city centre. It is particularly lively in the evening when the square and surrounding buildings are illuminated.
